  Woman Arrested On Suspicion Of Neglect After Toddler Walks Into Shop Unaccompanied A woman has been arrested on suspicion of neglecting a child after a toddler spent the evening being looked after at a police station. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said officers were called at about 4.20pm after the boy, possibly aged two or three years old, walked into a shop on Belle Green Lane in Higher Ince in Wigan, on his own.Police said they had identified a parent and the boy, who had not been reported missing, was safe and doing well.The force said a woman was arrested on suspicion of neglecting a child and was being interviewed by officers.

First responders from Allen County, Indiana, rescued a woman who was trapped in a frozen river after trying to save her dog. She was half a mile downstream, waist - deep in the chilly river . First responders were able to successfully rescue the woman, who was immediately taken to a hospital.

Officers from Magherafalt were alerted to the plight of a 12-year-old who had gone missing form home, Belfast Live reports .

Determined searches ensured the child was located but they were found standing waist deep in a local river.

Officers had to enter the water due to concerns for the child’s safety and health, because the water was extremely cold.

The child was rescued from the river and taken to Antrim Area Hospital for treatment.

PSNI Chief Inspector Robinson said: "This was outstanding police work by all the officers involved, if it had not been for their actions this could have been a very different outcome."

Gardaí searching for an elderly man missing from the south Dublin area have issued CCTV images in the hope of tracing his whereabouts. Brendan Burke (71) is missing from Rathfarnham, Dublin 16, since November 15. He is missing from the Bloomfield Care Centre and was last seen at 4.17pm on the 15th outside the Permanent TSB in Rathmines. Gardaí have released CCTV stills from the Permanent TSB in the hope that this will encourage people who were in the area and who may have seen him to come forward.An analysis of phone records also show that Mr Burke was in the city centre at around 8pm on that evening.
