Catherine Nevin (née Scully; 1 October 1950 – 19 February 2018) was an Irish woman who was convicted in 2000 of murdering her husband Tom Nevin at Jack White's Inn, a pub owned by the couple in County Wicklow.

Kathleen Mulhall, the mum of the notorious Scissor Sister killers, has said Black Widow Catherine Nevin is the "face of evil".

And she has also accused the husband-killer of trying to 'steal' her daughter after the two became close while serving time in the Dochas Centre at Mountjoy Prison.

Mulhall served five years for concealing evidence related to the killing of Farah Swaleh Noor in 2005, and has been living in London since her release.

In a tell-all interview with The Star, she revealed that Linda - freed last month after serving 12 years her role in Noor's killing - told her that Nevin was a better mother than her.

Linda and Charlotte Mulhall (also called the Scissor Sisters by the media) are sisters from Dublin, Ireland, known for having killed and dismembered their mother's boyfriend, Farah Swaleh Noor, in March 2005.

"She tried to take my place as being Linda's mother. Linda told me herself from her own mouth one day, that Catherine Nevin was a better mother to her than I ever was."

Nevin had been serving a life sentence for the murder of her husband Tom at Jack White’s Inn pub, Brittas Bay, Co Wicklow, in 1996.

However, she was released last year after it emerged that she had incurable brain cancer, although she lived more than a year after her diagnosis.

Mulhall said that the relationship between Nevin and her daughter has rocked her, saying that Catherine tried to 'steal' her by giving Linda presents and walking with her arm-in-arm.

"They are the last words I'd ever want to say to my daughter Linda. Linda knows in her heart and soul there was nothing I didn't do for her.

"I looked after her as best I could. She never wanted for anything. Linda was a bit of a handful growing up but I was always there for her."

She added that the situation got so bad that she could no longer bear to live in the same house at the Dochas Centre as Linda and Catherine.

Mulhall said: "We were all in the same house in the Dochas. There was Linda, Catherine Nevin, and me.

"I had to leave the house. I had to beg the staff to take me out of that house, the way I was being treated by my own child and Catherine Nevin, and that's the truth."
