A search is underway by gardai for a missing man who was convicted last year of chopping up and dumping the remains of a Kinahan linked drug dealer.

Kenneth Brunell and two other men were convicted in May 2017 of chopping up the body Keith Ennis, 29, with a chainsaw.

Ennis' body was discovered in a canal near Amsterdam more than a week after he went missing in Rotterdam in February 2009.

While 32-year-old Brunell along with Phillip County, 35, and Barry McArdle, 32, were charged with the disposing of the body, they were cleared of murder.

A judge in the Dutch capital imposed the maximum two year sentence for the “horrific and disrespectful way in which the men handled Mr Ennis’ remains".
