A young environmental activist has continued her conquest to clean Ireland's shores by leading a huge drive to get rubbish off a south Dublin beach.

Flossie Donnelly, 11, brought a massive crowd to Killiney today along with local Cllr Cormac Devlin who was delighted to see so many turn out.

He said: "Well done Flossie for organising the New Year's Day Killiney Beach Clean Up.

"It was great to see so many people support the event, especially Dalkey Tidy Towns."

The young activist has been a leader in her local community and was responsible for Ireland getting its first ever sea bins after raising thousands earlier in the year.
