The forecast from Wxcharts predicts snow reaching parts of the east coast, the north and the south of Ireland between January 22 and 24.

Met Eireann said they will not comment on the predictions, but said that 'sudden stratospheric warming' in early January has increased the likelihood of cold weather.

Forecaster Gerry Murphy said: "Sudden stratospheric warming at the start of the month can sometimes bring cold weather to this part of the world.
