Gardaí are investigating after a fire broke out at a house in north Dublin after it had been broken into.

Three engines were called to deal with the blaze according to The Dublin Fire Brigade who said they managed to quell it before the house suffered serious damage.

They said: "Over the weekend, 3 fire engines from Kilbarrack & North Strand stations were called to a house fire after it had been broken into. Fire damage was contained"

Accompanying the tweet are two photos, one showing the front door smashed in and another the interior of the house, with smoke damage visible on the walls.
