Labour Party Employment spokesman Ged Nash said today that the possibility of introducing a shorter working week - which in other countries has proved to be very successful - must be given serious consideration.

Last November, a number of Irish trade unions including Forsa said that reduced working time was emerging as one of the central issues in international debates about the future of work.
