Horror five-car motorway crash leaves one dead and 11 injured One man died and another 11 people were injured following a horrific crash in the midlands yesterday. 

A teenager has died and four others were injured , one seriously , in a single car crash in Co Carlow . The 16-year-old boy was killed when the car he was driving struck a wall near 'The Nine Stones', Mount Leinster in Borris, at around 5am. There was four other teenage boys in the car at the time.

Three other teenagers were hospitalised after the crash . The driver was fatally injured when the car struck a wall. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been taken to Waterford hospital. He has been named locally as Eamon Kavanagh, from Myshall, Co Carlow . “The four other male

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after five people were injured in a serious crash in Carlow.

The terrible incident happened in Clogrennane, just outside of Ballinabranagh village at 11.50am this morning.

Five people, a man in his 20s and four female teenagers have been taken to The Midland Regional Hospital and St Lukes General Hospital Kilkenny.

Two are understood to have serious injuries.

Two men killed in fatal Bank Holiday crash in Carlingford, Co Louth The tragedy happened in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday morning . The tragic accident occurred at approximately 12.35am on the R173 road in Carlingford, Co Louth. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene following the single car collision. Gardai say no one else was injured in the accident. The bodies of the both men have been taken to Louth County Hospital in Dundalk for post mortem examinations.

Four men and three women were also injured in the crash . Two of the men , aged 33 and 36, were airlifted to Waterford University Hospital, while the rest of the injured were taken to St Luke's Hospital kilkenny. Three of the seven are described as being in a serious condition.
