Horror five-car motorway crash leaves one dead and 11 injured One man died and another 11 people were injured following a horrific crash in the midlands yesterday. 

Police said four teenage girls were injured when the pickup truck they were in left the roadway and crashed into a tree, gate and post at about 3:40 A teenager has died and four others were injured following a single car collision in Co Carlow . One of the teenagers is said to be in a serious condition.

The 16-year-old boy was killed when the car he was driving struck a wall near 'The Nine Stones', Mount Leinster in Borris, at around 5am. There was four other teenage boys in the car at the time.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after five people were injured in a serious crash in Carlow.

The terrible incident happened in Clogrennane, just outside of Ballinabranagh village at 11.50am this morning.

Five people, a man in his 20s and four female teenagers have been taken to The Midland Regional Hospital and St Lukes General Hospital Kilkenny.

Two are understood to have serious injuries.
