'Marie and Darragh are our angels now' - funeral held for mother and her baby who died in hospital tragedy

'Marie and Darragh are our angels now' - funeral held for mother and her baby who died in hospital tragedy A MOTHER of three who died alongside her newborn baby boy in a freak tragedy at an Irish maternity hospital was hailed by her heartbroken husband as, with their infant son, her family's new "special angels." Heartbreaking scenes marked the funeral of Limerick mother Marie Downey (36) who was buried with her newborn infant, Darragh, cradled in her arms. Hundreds attended the Requiem Mass of Mrs Downey and little Darragh at St Michael's Church in Ballyagran on the Limerick-Cork border. Mrs Downey nee Cullinane was brought up in the GAA-obsessed Limerick parish - and lived with her husband, Kieran, and two older sons, James and Sean, in nearby Knockanevin, outside Kildorrery.

Judge to consider banning man from having sex with his wife

Judge to consider banning man from having sex with his wife A man could be banned from having sex with his wife of 20 years because it is claimed she no longer has the mental capacity to consent. The woman has learning difficulties, and social services bosses with responsibility for her care say there is evidence that her mental health has deteriorated to the point that she no longer has the ability to make decisions about whether she wants to have sex. A judge in the Court of Protection in London - a specialist court which looks at issues involving people who lack the mental capacity to make decisions - has been asked to consider the case.

‘Philip Corr please walk through the door I don’t know how to do all this without you…’
