Four men have been arrested by gardai investigating a shooting incident at a retail park in Co Louth.

A man in his thirties was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital after the incident at the M1 retail park in Drogheda on February 26.

Two men aged 23, a 27-year-old man and a 49-year-old man were arrested in connection with the incident on Monday morning.

They are currently detained at Drogheda and Dundalk garda stations under the Criminal Justice Act.

A number of premises were also searched in Drogheda on Monday morning in connection with the investigation.

Two people have been arrested after a six-year-old boy was shot ‘in broad daylight’ on Good Friday. West Midlands Police said a 24-year-old man and 17-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of wounding following the incident in Wolverhampton. A group of men are believed to have fired shots at a house in Ashbourne Road in the Eastfield area of the city at around 4pm on Friday. The injured boy, who was in the property at the time, suffered injuries to his back and remains in hospital in a stable condition. The arrested men remain in custody, West Midlands Police said.
