'My world is shattered': Dad pays tribute to boy killed by dog The father of a nine-year-old boy killed by a dog while alone in a caravan has said his "whole world has shattered into a million pieces". Frankie Macritchie was attacked by a suspected bulldog-type breed at Tencreek Holiday Park in Looe, Cornwall, in the early hours of Saturday. Police said people ran towards the caravan after hearing "sounds of distress" and tried to give first aid but the youngster died at the scene.

The widow of an Irish diving coach who died on his way back from the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage has paid tribute to her ‘best friend’ and ‘soulmate’.

Phillip Dunlop, a leisure centre attendant from Bangor, Co. Down, died in Spain on his way to the airport to fly home to Northern Ireland.

The 53-year-old’s wife, Joan Dunlop, has now flown to Santiago to be with her husband before he is repatriated.

‘I have no words,’ she wrote in a heartfelt Facebook post. ‘I am totally devastated and shocked as Phill Dunlop my amazing husband, best friend, my wingman, soulmate, mine & the kids whole life.’

Vivian Opoku, the widow of the late Christopher Opoku, has paid tribute to him, almost two months after his death on May 10. Opoku, a Christian, was also a gospel musician. He is set to be buried on July 15. Friends and well -wishers have taken to social media to wish his wife and children well .

"He was the best friend I or anyone could ever have," Mrs Purdham said, voice trembling. Mourners were asked by his family to wear bright colours and many friends from the local rugby league scene sported the club jerseys of Whitehaven, Workington and Egremont - the three teams he played for

Mr Dunlop was father to three children, Travis, Taylor and Jordan. A GoFundMe set up to cover the family’s travel, accommodation and funeral costs has now surpassed its £10,000 (€11,500) goal.

I want to personally thank everyone for all your generosity, support and condolences,’ Mrs Dunlop said in a second post on Monday.

‘We are so touched by how much people loved Phill Dunlop. Me, the kids and 2 of my sister’s are leaving tomorrow to go to Spain to be with Phillip for a few days as it will be 10days before he comes home.’

Mr Dunlop and a colleague known as Kevin had walked the 252km trail from Porto, Portugal to Santiago, Spain in nine days before he ‘fell ill’ and passed away, according to Mrs Dunlop.

A war widow has paid tribute to the "incredible bravery and courage" of young men killed in Afghanistan, at a remembrance service attended by the Prince of Wales.

Wingman is a role that a person may take when a friend needs support with approaching potential romantic partners. A wingman is someone who is on the "inside" and is used to help someone with intimate relationships.
