A Local Election candidate was hospitalised over the weekend after he fell while putting up campaign posters.

Bernard Mulvany was up a tall ladder on the Clontarf seafront securing a loose poster to a lampost when he fell and hit his head.

The People Before Profit was taken to the Mater Hospital where he is still recovering.

Mr Mulvany said he has little memory of the incident and said his accident highlights the dangers of putting up election posters.
