Parents are being told to beware as a product recall has been issued for a batch of Cow & Gate baby food.

The recall was issued through the Food Safety Authority of Ireland for Danone Early Life Nutrition.

It noted that the 250g jar of the Cow & Gate Cheesy Broccoli Bake 10 months + Children (Stage 3) may have pieces of plastic rubber glove inside.

The recall read: ‘Danone Early Life Nutrition is recalling the above batch of Cow & Gate Cheesy Broccoli Bake 10 months + Children (Stage 3), as some jars in this batch contain small pieces of a thin blue rubber glove.

‘No other batches of this product or any other Cow & Gate products are affected by this recall. The implicated batch was sold by Boots Ireland only.’

The affected batch has the best before date of December 18, 2020.

Irish retailer Rimantas Meats are being forced to recall all smoked pork sausage products due to fears of a meningitis-causing bacteria. The bacteria, detected as Listeria monocytogenes, was found in a batch of ready-made smoked pork sausages produced by Irish retailer Rimantas Meats, in Belturbet, Co Cavan. Listeria monocytogenes is a bug that causes the infection known as listeriosis, it is a bacteria capable of surviving in the presence of oxygen and can be dangerous for pregnant women, unborn babies, new babies and people who are unwell, including the elderly.
