Two men have been arrested as Gardai hunted armed raiders who terrified shoppers in North Dublin.

The armed thieves stormed a Lidl on the Rathbeale Road in Swords.

The robbery was the second big security issue for the area in the space of two days after the village's main street and shopping centre were evacuated on Thursday.

It’s understood that a call was received that pipe bombs had been left on timers in the area, however Gardai did not locate any device after evacuating.
