This shocking video appears to show several Tipperary hurling fans fighting amongst themselves at Semple Stadium on Sunday.

Gardai have confirmed to the Irish Mirror that they are investigating the incident and have made two arrests during today's Munster Senior Hurling Championship clash between Tipperary and Waterford.

From the footage it appears that one fan is assaulted by several other fans - all wearing Tipperary colours.

Semple Stadium , located in Thurles, County Tipperary , Ireland is the home of hurling and Gaelic football for Tipperary and the larger Munster area. Semple Stadium was officially named as the GAA ’s Number 2 stadium second only to Croke Park, Dublin.

Several other fans can also been seen attempting to break up the brawl.

A group of fans are seen throwing punches at a man who falls on the ground, and was assaulted when he got back up to his feet.

Almost 23,000 fans were at the game, with many children and family in attendance.

It does not appear that any Waterford fans are involved in the incident.

It is understood that the incident occurred underneath the scoreboard in the east stand and took place during closing stages of the game.

One shocked onlooker told the Irish Mirror: "I hope they get shown up, it was embarrassing.

SHOCKING footage of a number of youngsters brawling outside a GAA stadium following a hurling match has been condemned as “deplorable”. Roughly a dozen youngsters began exchanging punches outside Semple Stadium in Thurles, Co Tipperary following Sunday’s Munster senior hurling

"It was under the scoreboard towards the end of the game, stewards and guards rushed up after, it went on for a while."

In a statement, gardai said: "Gardaí in Thurles who were working at the match in Semple Stadium attended an incident in the stand during the game on Sunday afternoon, 19th May, 2019 at approximately 3.15p.m.

"Two men (one juvenile and one 20s) were arrested and removed from the stand and taken to Thurles GS in relation to the incident. The men have since been released and investigations are ongoing."

A spokesman for Tipperary GAA said: "We will not be commenting on this incident tonight."

The Premier men strolled to an 18-point victory over 14-man Waterford to make it two wins from two in this year's Munster Senior Hurling Championship.
