Irish woman, 81, finally meets her mother, 103, after desperate 60-year search An 81-year-old woman has finally met her 103-year-old mother after 60 years of searching. Eileen Macken grew up in orphanage in Dublin, Ireland, and until now had never met her mum, despite starting a search for her when she as just 19. In desperation, last year she contacted one of the country’s most popular daily radio shows, Liveline, on the country’s national broadcaster RTE. With the help of a genealogist she had managed to find her mother who was now 103 and living in Scotland. The woman reportedly died at approximately 1.50pm on Thursday on Carlow ’s Montgomery Street. ‘The body of the woman , 40 years, was removed to Waterford University Hospital where a post mortem will be conducted and that will determine the course of the investigation .’

It's understood the body of the woman, in her 40s, was discovered at the home on Barrett Street in Bagenalstown on Sunday morning.

Her body has been removed to Waterford University Hospital where a post-mortem is due to take place.

Gardai investigating the discovery say her death is not suspicious.

A garda spokeswoman told the Irish Mirror: "Gardaí attended an incident of sudden death on Sunday 19 of May at approximately 12:15 at Barrett St, Bagnelstown, Co Carlow.

© Getty Gardai (stock) A garda investigation is underway after the discovery of a woman 's body in Co Cork. The alarm was raised at around 3pm on Saturday after the remains Gardai and ambulance services rushed to the property, but the woman was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

"A woman was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at scene. The body was taken to University Hospital Waterford for post mortem. Not deemed suspicious at this time."
