A man has been shot dead in broad daylight in the third killing in North Dublin the space of a week.

The 41-year-old was killed right outside the home of Sean Little who was found dead in Balbriggan last week.

Gardai closed off the scene at Kilbarron Avenue in Kilmore as they examined the scene.

A car, believed to be a getaway vehicle, was found set alight in nearby Cromcastle shortly after.

The victim is a 41-year-old Iranian national who was the chief suspected in one of last week's shootings.

A man in his 40s has been shot dead in the Kilbarron Avenue area of Coolock in north Dublin . It is understood that the man did not live in the house, which was the home of Sean Little , a 22-year-old man whose body was discovered beside a burning car at Rowan’s Little , Walshestown last week.

On Tuesday last, 22-year-old Sean Little was found dead in Balbriggan after being shot in the head and chest.

Less than 24 hours later, Jordan Davis was shot in Darndale while walking with his baby outside a primary school.

Davis was well known to Little who is understood to be a close associate of today's victim.

Gardai confirmed they're at the scene and say they will release more details shortly.

A spokesperson said: "Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene of a shooting incident in the Kilbarron Avenue area of Coolock that occurred on 28/05/19 at approximately 3:30pm.

"Further details will be issued in due course."

Local councillor John Lyons has called on Drew Harris and Charlie Flanagan to come to Coolock and assure locals that the escalating situation will be dealt with.

"There is shock in Kimore West this afternoon as yet another person was shot dead in broad daylight, the third such shooting on the northside in less than a week.
