Met Eireann has just warned of some particularly intense weather across Connacht and Ulster.

The status yellow weather warning was issued on Wednesday morning and will stay in effect until 9am on Thursday.

According to Met Eireann, Mayo, Roscommon, Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Cavan and Monaghan all need to pay particular care with between 25 to 32mm of rain expected in the next 24 hours alone.

The status yellow alert follows some mixed weather across the country after the weekend saw breaks of sunshine interspersed with heavy showers while a steady downpour hit Dublin for most of Tuesday.

Following that trend, Met Eireann also dropped a bleak update stating that there will be ‘precipitation and pressure’ in six hour intervals around the country for the next seven days.
