An investigation is underway after two people tragically died in a light aircraft crash in the early hours of Friday morning.

Two men, one in his 70s and a second in his 50s, were pronounced dead after the horror crash.

A local farmer, who did not wish to be named, said he did not hear the plane crash but later heard the search helicopter.

He told the Irish Mirror: “It’s a bit crazy, I didn’t expect this when I woke up.
