A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Dry in many places today with variable cloud amounts and sunshine, but scattered showers will occur, mainly in Connacht and Ulster, where a few of them may be heavy.

"Highest temperatures of 15C to 20C.

The warm weather will continue tomorrow, with the highest temperatures expected in the southeast of the country.

"Top temperatures will range from 14C or 15C in parts of the west and northwest, up to 20C in the southeast. Light to moderate westerly breezes."

Conditions will become slightly cooler from Thursday, with the occasional showers persisting in parts of the country, particularly in Ulster.

A forecaster said: "Mixed weather persisting with temperatures near average for the time of year.

"Scattered showers will continue to occur, interspersed with clear intervals.

"Minimum temperatures of 6C to 9C in mainly light southwest breezes, with some shallow mist patches forming towards dawn.

"Another day of sunny spells and showers on Thursday but with the risk of a more prolonged spell of rain for parts of north and west Ulster.

"Top temperatures ranging 13C to 17C, coolest values in the west and northwest. Winds will be mainly light to moderate westerly.

"The best of the sunshine will be through the morning and evening hours, with cloudy periods during the afternoon. Highs of 15C to 19 degrees with light winds and sea breezes.

"Mainly dry on Friday night with just isolated light showers. Lows of 6C to 9C with light southeast breezes developing."
