Met Eireann has issued a status yellow weather advisory for the whole of Ireland for the rest of Monday.

The warning was issued at 12pm and will remain in place for Dublin and beyond until 10pm on Monday night.

They say that there is a "risk of heavy thundery downpours, especially over Munster and Leinster which may lead to spot flooding."

Meanwhile, Ireland will enjoy its hottest week of the year so far with temperatures as high as 27C on the way.

Dublin weather as Met Eireann issue status yellow warning for Ireland with THUNDER RAIN and flooding expected . It looks like the miserable summer is set to continue with Met Eireann issuing a Status Yellow rainfall for Dublin . The warning is valid from 6pm on Sunday evening until 6am on.

A STATUS YELLOW rainfall warning has been issued for five counties in the greater Dublin region. The warning is in place for Dublin , Meath It kicked in at 8am and is effective until 9 o’clock tonight, with Met Éireann expecting spells of heavy rain with a risk of spot flooding in affected counties.

Met Eireann is forecasting scorching heat over the next five days.

And highs could exceed 25C on Thursday and Friday as parts of the country look set to experience a brief heatwave.

Monday night will be mostly mild and dry, but some fog patches may form overnight.

A forecaster added: "The last of any showers will die out by late evening and the night will be mainly dry and clear with lows of 11 or 12 degrees. Mist and fog patches are again likely to form."

Met Eireann is currently forecasting that Thursday will be the hottest day of the year so far as temperatures soar to potential sizzling 27C.

A spokesman said: "Another warm and sunny day with highs of 20 to 27 degrees, again warmest in the midwest."
