A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Today will be dry with good sunny spells. It will become somewhat cloudier in Ulster this afternoon.

"Highest temperatures of 17C to 22C with light breezes, warmest in the south.

"Tonight will be dry with clear spells. Lowest temperatures 6C to 10C."

"Thursday will be dry with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 16C to 20C in Ulster and Connacht and from 20C to 23C for Munster and Leinster with light to moderate west to northwest breezes."

The weekend will stay dry and sunny in many areas, albeit with some patchy rain in Munster on Saturday.

Some drizzle is expected in the west and northwest on Sunday but the conditions will remain warm, with highs of 21C.
