Merseyside Police are urgently trying to trace Andrei Stoian, aged eight, and mum Georgeta who have gone missing after both did not turn up for a booked European flight out of Liverpool's John Lennon Airport in late May, Liverpool Echo reports.

Officers want to ensure both of them are safe after they went missing from their home in Tranmere.

Detectives say the mother and child could have travelled to Ireland and may be in Dublin.
