Air Canada flight bound for Sydney lands in Hawaii after turbulence injures 35 passengers Thirty-five passengers are injured on an Air Canada flight from Vancouver to Sydney after the plane encountered turbulence at about 36,000 feet.

Flight EI 712 departed at 11.50am from Cork Airport but was forced to turn back when smoke was reported in the cockpit. Pilots raised the alarm and several ambulances and fire crew met the aircraft as a precautionary measure. Passengers were evacuated by chute and no injuries were reported.

An Aer Lingus flight is returning to Dublin for an emergency landing after a bird strike caused an engine fire.

The terrifying incident, which just occurred in the last few minutes, happened on flight EI115 from Dublin Airport to Philadelphia.

It is understood that the incident caused a flame to ignite on the starboard engine.

A bird strike famously caused the 'Miracle on the Hudson' plane landing.

An Aer Lingus Airbus A330-200, registration EI-LAX performing flight EI-120 from Orlando,FL (USA) to Dublin (Ireland) with 245 passengers and 11 crew, had just departed runway 18L when the crew declared emergency reporting their left hand engine (CF6) had failed due to a massive loss of oil.

Thankfully, all passengers survived without serious injury.
