Three people have been hospitalised after being involved in a crash in Dublin last night. It happened at 11:30pm on Knockmaroon Hill in Chapelizod. The driver and passenger of the second car were also taken to Connolly Hospital with minor injuries. Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.

The road at New Nangor Road, Business Park, Park West was closed for several hours on Thursday evening as Gardai attended the scene.

The male, in his 50s, is currently at Tallaght University Hospital but it is said that his condition is not life-threatening, Dublin Live reports.

The collision happened at the junction between Nangor Road and Killeen Road in Bluebell at 6pm.

Gardai and the Dublin Fire Brigade were first on the scene while the road was closed off for around six hours after the incident.

Gardaí arrested two young men and seized a handgun from a car on in the North Strand, in inner city Dublin on Friday night. The vehicle was stopped as part of a routine traffic patrol at 10pm on Friday after gardaí became suspicious, and questioned two men in their 20s in the car .

Gardaí released two of the men arrested for the car burglaries without charge, while the other man went before court in Cloverhill. In a major operation which is continuing, gardaí arrested three men and one appeared in court in Cloverhill in Dublin in recent days and was remanded in custody.

A spokesman for Gardai told Dublin Live that: "Three juveniles have been arrested in relation to this incident and investigations are ongoing."
