Liverpool won the all-Premiership final two nil courtesy of an early Mo Salah penalty and an 87th minute strike by substitute Divock Origi.

The final was watched by thousands of Irish fans of both clubs who travelled to the Spanish capital for the biggest game in European club soccer.

A ninth charge also faced by the defendant relates to deception.

Brennan, who was arrested last week at a hostel in the south city, appeared at Cloverhill District Court in front of Judge Victor Blake.

Wearing a red Adidas sports top he said nothing during the brief hearing but assented to giving evidence at a future hearing via video link through his barrister Sharon Rossiter BL.

Detective Garda Damien Kildea of Mountjoy Garda Station asked Judge Blake to remand Wesley Brennan in custody to allow for further instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to the case.

Judge Blake remanded Brennan in custody to the same court on October 1.
