Gardaí believe they may have found the location where Kevin Lunney was held against his will and beaten.

The Quinn Industrial Holdings executive was abducted and then dumped on the road after the attack, found by residents on the side of the road in Drumcoghill, Cornafean in Cavan around 9pm on Tuesday.

Gardaí confirmed on Sunday that a further search was to be carried out.

Speaking of the assault, he said: ‘My family has been on and they’re outraged as well.

‘They’ve been on to me [that] we’re going to take the flak for this, and that we are being blamed for this, and that some people will look in our direction at it.’
