THE young man who tragically died while at the Body and Soul festival has been named locally as Andrew Duggan.

The young man, 35, was originally from Ballyvourney, North Cork and had been walking the popular route when the tragedy struck.

Mr Kelleher was walking the Camino with two friends when it is believed he became separated late on Thursday evening.

An alarm was raised and emergency services were alerted to a search where Tim was found struggling in water.

Attempts were made to resuscitate him before he was transferred to an ambulance and rushed to the nearest hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.

A post-mortem is to take place in the coming days which will determine the exact cause of death.

Tim's family are well-known in the Ballyvourney community and locals are said to be in shock after the tragic incident.

The Department of Foreign Affairs are aware of the incident and are providing consular assistance.

This is not the first death of its kind in the area of the Camino path after a young Italian man died there back in 2010.

19-year-old Giulio Recusani became overwhelmed by the waves and was pronounced dead at the scene despite attempts to revive him.

This is the latest tragedy to strike Cork holidaymakers this year after two young kids drowned on holidays during the summer.
