Seven men have been arrested following an attempted robbery at a house in Balbriggan in Dublin. A number of men entered a home in Barons Hall Park at around 11.30pm last night and demanded money at knifepoint. They left after a brief struggle.
A thieving duo led by a teenage girl is said to have targeted as many as seven houses during early morning burglaries all over north county Dublin on Sunday.
The pair forced entry to homes in Skerries, Balbriggan and Lusk taking several valuable items from each place.
One of the homeowners whose house was ransacked by the thieves was Aurelija Aura.
She told Dublin Live that the incident has left her family too frightened to even go to sleep.
She said: "It was 7 o'clock in the morning when it happened. We didn't wake up until 8am.
"We saw the front door was fully opened and all the kitchen presses were left wide opened too.

"They took my handbag which had keys for the car and some money in it but thankfully, they didn't take our car. We have a door ring bell camera which caught the man's face.
"Our neighbours have proper CCTV cameras which shows the pair checking all the doors to see if they're open."
Aurelija added that her son had forgotten to lock the door on Saturday night which meant easy access for the thieves.
She continued: "I have two teenagers and they are too scared to even sleep now after what has happened."
A spokesman for Gardaí told Dublin Live that they are "investigating a number of burglaries in the Skerries and Lusk area, stopped and searched a car on Sunday morning 29th September at 08:30am on the Dublin Rd, Skerries".
He added: "During the course of the search of the car, several items were discovered which are believed to have been taken during the course of a number of burglaries.

"The two occupants of the car, a male and female (Juvenile) were arrested at the scene and taken to Ballbriggan Garda Station where they were detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. The female was released without charge on Sunday and will be dealt with under the Garda Youth Diversion Program.
