A Limerick mother was devastated last week when she was told her son had passed away in a horrific car crash in Clare, only to later found out he was still alive.

The crash occurred in Quinspool, Parteen, Co Clare, last Thursday and two people were found dead at the scene.  Two other men were found injured.

However, a source close to one Limerick mother claims that she was told her son had died in the ‘horrific’ crash.

Jason Hogan’s mother Jillian Hogan was told that her 12-year-old son had died in the crash alongside his uncle Patrick Hogan.

However, Jason was still alive and was rushed to Temple Street Hospital in Dublin to be placed in an induced coma.

‘The poor girl was all over the place,’ a source told the Sun.

‘She was told her son was dead and the next [thing] she was told he’s alive.’

The single- car crash happened at Quinspool, Parteen, County Clare near Watch House Cross in Limerick just after midnight. Two persons were pronounced dead at the scene. Another two men in their early 20s were taken to University Hospital Limerick with serious injuries.

When they arrived at the hospital, they realised that it was Jason Hogan in the hospital and Jonathan was back at the scene of the crash in Clare.

Jason’s uncle, Patrick Hogan, died in the crash alongside Jonathan Healy. Another man, 20-year-old Adam Carver, remains in University Hospital Limerick receiving treatment for injuries.

An online fundraiser has been organised to raise funds for the Hogan family ‘to raise much-needed funds to help her and her family to be at Jason’s bedside as much as possible’.
