An appeal has been issued to help find a 67-year-old woman who has been missing from the Garryvoe area of Co Cork since 5 October, as gardaí and her family say they are increasingly concerned for her welfare. Frankie Devlin was last seen at around 10.45pm on Saturday night.

The body of Cork woman Frankie Devlin has been recovered in Cork after the Gardai made an appeal for information regarding the 67-year-old.

Frankie Devlin, 67, had last been seen at approximately 10.45pm on Saturday around the Garryvoe area.

Speaking about his mother’s disappearance, Killian Devlin had said: ‘We are living in hell. It is soul-destroying. Every scenario has gone through our heads.’

After a renewed appeal for information about Frankie’s whereabouts on Wednesday afternoon, her body was tragically recovered in the Garryvoe after 3pm.

Frankie Devlin , who lives in Ballinacurra, Midleton, was last seen in the Garryvoe area since Saturday evening. Speaking to the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork 's RedFM this morning, Ms Devlin 's son Killian said his mother's disappearance is "soul destroying".

Speaking after the discovery, gardai thanked the public for their assistance after countless people lent a hand in the search.

One of the mother-of-four’s children, Killian Devlin, thanked the Garda, RNLI, Coast Guard, and the Cork Missing Persons group for their assistance.

He also thanked the countless volunteers who helped with the search.

‘They are experts on this and are so professional,’ he said. ‘Everyone has been brilliant. We can’t thank people enough. They have been fantastic.’
