A Dublin driving test centre took in nearly €1.3 million in test fees in 2018. New figures released to Extra.ie under the Freedom of Information Act 2014 (FOI) shows the Finglas test centre in north county Dublin conducted 15,199 tests in 2018. The test centre charged €85 per test, meaning they took in €1,291,915 for the RSA. The Dublin test centres are the main cash cows for the RSA, with three of the five most popular test centres situated in Dublin.

Elsewhere in Dublin, the Raheny test centre conducted 5,385 tests (€457,725). This means that, between the four Dublin test centres, the RSA took in nearly €3.4 million last year (€3,389,630).

So far this year, Tallaght has conducted 10,497 tests while Churchtown has conducted 4,863 tests, earning €892,245 and €413,355 respectively.

This means the test centres have earned the RSA €387,600 and €345,780. In total, the five Dublin driving test centres have earned the RSA nearly €3 million so far this year (€2,972,365). Elsewhere, the test centre in Clifden has conducted just 298 tests so far this year.  This equates to just €25,330 in fees.

So far this year, the RSA has earned nearly €11.1 million in total. With another three months left in the year, it looks as if the RSA will earn more money this year than they did in 2018. In 2018, 136,316 tests were conducted, taking in just nearly €11.6 million.
