A man has been arrested following an incident in Cork city over the weekend which left four people injured.

A row broke out in the garden of a home in Mahon at around 7pm on Saturday evening and one man in his seventies was cut on the hand with a knife.

Another man believed to have been involved in the altercation then attempted to leave the house in his car but ran into two others who had been at the house.

A local woman who was just walking by the house at the time was also hit by the vehicle, Cork Beo reports.

Gardaí were quickly on the scene and tried to talk the driver of the car into exiting the vehicle.
