Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a robbery and assault that saw a man knock a woman to the ground and steal her handbag in Bandon, Co Cork.

Shortly after 3am on December 1, a woman was walking on Castle Road when a man approached her.

He knocked her to the ground, assaulted her and stole her handbag,

Three men in the area came to the woman’s assistance.

The suspect is described as being 6ft tall and was wearing black clothing with 'PUMA' across his jumper.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the Castle Road area of Bandon between 2.45am and 3.30am on December 1 and who may have witnessed the incident to contact us.
