Public transport providers have released details of late night services available to commuters over the Christmas period. For the first time ever this year, for example, commuters on the Kildare commuter line on Irish Rail will have access to late - night services from Dublin city centre, with services from

Late night services will operate on Friday, Saturday this week as well as December 13, 14, 20, and 21.

Maynooth Commuter

00:20hrs and 01.55hrs Dublin Pearse serving all stations to Maynooth

00:50hrs and 01.50hrs from Dublin Pearse serving Tara Street, Connolly, Drumcondra, and all stations from ParkWest Cherryorchard  to Kildare.

Late - night weekend Dart, Dundalk and Maynooth line rail services will start running from Dublin city centre from this Friday for the Christmas season. Irish Rail said it is the longest programme of Christmas late - night services it has ever provided. The services will run on December 2nd and 3rd

Late - night services will serve all stations on DART, Dundalk, Maynooth and Kildare Commuter lines, including Pearse to Kildare via Phoenix Park Tunnel Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail is happy to announce that the Annual Car Parking is now open, if you wish to renew your parking permit, please see below

An Iarnród Éireann spokeperson said: “We’re delighted to begin our late night Christmas services on the three weekends in the run-up to Christmas.

"Operating for all stations to Maynooth and Kildare from the city centre, including using the Phoenix Park Tunnel, the trains will once again be hugely popular with late night partygoers who can save on expensive taxi fares.”

A man has died at Cloverhill Prison following an incident involving another inmate. Garda confirmed that the man was pronounced dead by emergency services at the prison shortly after midnight.
