Today will be cold with mix of sunny spells and passing showers, which will be most frequent in the morning with a risk of wintry falls.

Temperatures will reach just 5 or 6C today before dropping to as low as -1C tonight with a chance of sleet as well as frost and icy patches.

Sunday will begin cold and frosty but will be bright to begin with before becoming cloudier in the afternoon with a chance of some passing showers and high temperatures of 5 to 6C.

Met Éireann says outbreaks of showery rain and sleet will affect parts of the west and south for a time but will have cleared by the afternoon. There’ll be clear periods overnight with lowest temperatures around freezing . Widespread frost is set to be an issue again with further patches of freezing fog.
