The incident occurred at around 2.45am on the Glenville Road, Ballincrokig on the northside of the city.

Emergency services were called to the scene. The man, who was the driver and only occupant of the car, was treated at the scene by paramedics.

The body will be removed to Cork University Hospital (CUH) for a post-mortem examination.

A man has died after his car crashed into a wall on a rural lane. The 38-year-old hit a wall while driving down the single track lane near Lobden Golf Club in Whitworth, Lancashire, at about 04:00 GMT. He later died in hospital. A 35-year-old passenger is in a stable condition in hospital.
