A man was arrested Friday morning after he was found driving a stolen vehicle in Oxnard, authorities said. A detective saw a gray Nissan Maxima with a fake license plate about 11 a.m. near Ninth Street and Hobson Way and suspected the vehicle was one that had been reported stolen , police said.

A motorbike that was stolen in Clontarf in 2017 has been found by community police while on patrol.

The Black Yamaha motorbike was spotted by police on Tuesday while they were out on their mountain bikes in the Meakstown area.

After discovering that the bike was not registered, it was then found that the VIN number has been removed and painted over.

After questioning a man who claimed he owned it, gardai discovered that he had created a fake registration and had a fake tax disc.

"Gardaí used the Active Mobility Device to check the registration. This vehicle was not registered and it was then noted that the VIN/Chassis number had been ground off and painted over.

"Gardaí questioned a male who claimed to be the owner, he advised he had no log book, that he had created his own registration and had a false TAX disc.

"This Motorcycle was stolen on the 7th November 2017 in Clontarf and will be returned to the legal owner. One male has been arrested and charged to appear in court in the coming weeks."
