  Terrified young girls forced to flee from thug teens who chased them with knives in Malahide, North Dublin One of the girls ran into a local shop and gardai were alerted before the teens fled .The Portmarncok Community Association shared a message from a concerned local whose sister was on of the girls chased. She urged others to be wary.They said: "To people on here with kids hanging around the Portmarnock/Malahide area. My little sister and her friends were up by Scoil Iosa and three teenagers chased them with knives."One of them even followed them when they ran into the sweet shop on the main road."Gardai were called out and the lads got away. Tell your kids to be careful.

A vicious armed thug punched a woman in the face with a weapon before raiding her South Dublin home for money and jewellery, Dublin Live can reveal.

The incident took place in Firhouse on Thursday evening when the lone thief entered the house armed.

He was confronted by the homeowner when he entered but proceeded to hit her in the face before stealing several personal items.

The ruthless man was disturbed in the middle of the burglary by neighbours who heard the woman's frightening screams.

But, the horrible thug ran upstairs and jumped out a window fleeing the scene with a laptop, cash and jewellery among other items.

"A significant amount of property was taken during the incident. Homeowner received bruising from the male intruder during the break-in.

They added: "Homeowner later alerted neighbours and suspect then fled the scene. No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."
