Seven people were taken to hospital following a four car pile up on the M50.

Four ambulances rushed to the scene of the crash that happened just hours ago as Storm Ciara raged through Dublin.

The incident happened on the M50 between J12 Firhouse and J13 Dundrum.

The injuries have been reportedly non-life threatening.

A spokesman for the Dublin Fire Brigade said: “We're currently attending a 4 car collision @M50Dublin J13 Ballinteer Southbound. Lanes are blocked but recovery has started.

“Some lanes have reopened, but lane 1, hard shoulder still closed.”
