  Police charge six people after Extinction Rebellion protests in Cambridge Activists dug up the lawn outside Trinity College on Monday and targeted a research building linked to fossil fuels on Tuesday.Three others have been charged with criminal damage over a protest which took place the following day outside a research building run by oilfield service provider Schlumberger.

Climate change activist Greta Thunberg has met with the Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai at Oxford University.

Yousafzai, a global figure for the rights of girls to have an education, shared an image of herself with the Swedish activist on Tuesday.

Thunberg, 17, and Pakistani activist Yousafzai, 22, are seen sat on a bench together in the photograph.

Yousafzai wrote "Thank you @gretathunberg" along with a heart emoji in the post.

It is not year clear why the two women met on Tuesday.

The Swedish activist was 15 when she started spending her school days sat outside Sweden's parliament calling for stronger action on climate change.

Thunberg later addressed the 2018 United Nations Climate Change Conference.

The assassination attempt came after she wrote a blog under a pseudonym which detailed her life in Pakistan under Taliban occupation.

Yousafzai was transferred from Pakistan to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, UK, after she was shot.

She stayed in the UK after her recovery and now studies at Oxford University.

Yousafzai became the youngest ever recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014, for her "struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to an education".
