A man was assaulted and allegedly stabbed by a gang in broad daylight at a Dublin shopping centre on Saturday.

The victim was approached by a number of men who proceeded to attack him outside JC's Supermarket in Swords Shopping Centre just before 4:30pm.

It is understood that he was allegedly stabbed by the group during the frightening incident, Dublin Live reports.

A Garda spokesman said that investigations are ongoing and that no further information is available at this time.
