Incivilities committed by “youth gangs”

This decision was taken after incivility committed by “youth gangs” from northern Franche-Comté according to the local authorities cited by France Bleu . Information confirmed by the mayor of the city, Gabriel Voirol.

He spoke on Radio Fréquence Jura (RFJ) , insisting that "bands of young people" came very regularly to the pools and disturbed the place. He also explains that "those who provide security at the edge of the pools are put back in place, not by an individual, but by bands".

Still according to France Bleu, three police officers and four security agents were forced to intervene at the end of July, after an incident, which was probably not the first.

A measure deemed "discriminatory"

Fabrice Berret, municipal councilor of Cornol, Switzerland, said he was shocked by the measure, at the microphone of Radio Fréquence Jura . Indeed, the adjacent municipalities, which also participate in the financing of the swimming pool, are also denied access.

The government will reintroduce an insecticide on beets in order to control the aphids which are vectors of jaundice. This product was banned from use in September 2018 because it kills bees.

The advisor thus denounces a measure "discriminatory" , and proposes to the members of the Municipal Council to cut the funding of the establishment if the measure is not withdrawn.

“For several years, we have felt an anti-French climate, which I personally find detestable and particularly unwelcome for our region” he explains.

The Jurassic Socialist Youth (JSJ) has also launched in recent days a petition against this measure. The Jura Socialist Party (PSJ) criticizes a restriction which "feeds divisions and stirs up nauseating debates" .

The State confirms our analysis: there is indeed a doubt about the legality of the measure concerning the swimming pool of #Porrentruy . We therefore await the legal conclusions while recalling that the moral aspect remains flouted. https://t.co/E4ByuRDexs

The Jura government has taken up the case

The Jura government has taken up the case, the delegate for municipal affairs's mission is to control the legality of the measure, while “respecting municipal autonomy” according to the president of the Jura government, Martial Courtet, contacted by RFJ.

The mayor of Porrentuy, Gabriel Voirol, continues to justify the restriction. "When the decision was taken, we still checked the basic legality with a constitutional specialist, and it seemed that there was no impossibility to go in that direction" .

According to the latter, incivility continues because of "young refractory" , often from the neighboring country. A report should be submitted to the local executive.
