In the tweets he said: "The Democrat Congresswomen have been spewing some of the most vile, hateful, and disgusting things ever said by a politician in the House or Senate, & yet they get a free pass and a big embrace from the Democrat Party. Horrible anti-Israel, anti-USA, pro-terrorist & public...

"...shouting of the F...word, among many other terrible things, and the petrified Dems run for the hills. Why isn't the House voting to rebuke the filthy and hate laced things they have said? Because they are the Radical Left, and the Democrats are afraid to take them on. Sad!"

With President Trump tripling down on his racist attacks on a group of Democratic congresswomen of color, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) backed the president on Monday morning, calling the so-called Squad a “bunch of communists” who are “anti-Semitic” and hate the United States.

President Trump doubles down in attacks against ‘ the squad ’ of congresswomen. President Trump has doubled down in his attack against a “ squad ” of four congresswomen, saying they should be apologising to him after a series of racist tweets.

It follows a day of arguments between the four democrats and the president over their stance on issues such as immigration.

The four women, known widely as the "The Squad" includes Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressley.

The women of colour, who are all US citizens with only one of them, Ilhan Omar, being born outside the US, have been labelled "The Squad", and have been vocal in particular against Mr Trump's immigration policy.

On Monday, the group of women hit back at Trump, accusing him of running the country with "the agenda of a white nationalist" after the president told them to "go back and help fix" their "broken and crime-infested countries".

Since then, Mr Trump has faced a barrage of criticism about the way in which has spoken about the women.

Prime Minister Theresa May called the comments "completely unacceptable" whilst House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Mr Trump's tweet had shown his plan had always been about "making America white again".
