Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has pledged he will do all he can to stop a "no-deal crash out" from the European Union.

On Saturday, Mr Corbyn said that if Mr Johnson forces a no-deal Brexit on October 31 in spite of the law passed by Parliament, opposition parties would work together to hold the government to account for its "irresponsible behaviour."

He said: "Opposition parties have worked very closely on this.

"We will do all we can to prevent that no-deal crash-out because of all the damage that will do to jobs, living standards, supply chains, food supplies and medicine supplies, and if it happens we're absolutely determined to bring this government to account to make them answer for their irresponsible behaviour."

The government has made it clear today it's prepared to go to court to fight new laws forcing the prime minister to delay Brexit to avoid no-deal. But a trial with days to go until exit date may not be a political catastrophe for Boris Johnson. As one senior government source put it: "Polling is holding up and shows that the bubble is out of kilter with the public.
