Greta Thunberg met Barack Obama and people are obsessed

Greta Thunberg met Barack Obama and people are obsessed In this age of political madness, the Obama nostalgia is real, and his latest tweet epitomises exactly why. The former president posted a picture in which he is shaking hands with Greta Thunberg - probably one of the most well-known and respected (at least among progressive circles) teenager on the planet. Just 16, @GretaThunberg is already one of our planet’s greatest advocates. Recognizing that her generation will bear the brunt of climate change, she’s unafraid to push for real action. She embodies our vision at the @ObamaFoundation: A future shaped by young leaders like her. pic.twitter.

Greta Thunberg has poked fun at trolls criticising her climate action campaign by sharing a video which mocked "adults angry at a child".

The 16-year-old activist responded to a comedy sketch posted by Australian comedian Mark Humphries, which jokingly depicted angry callers phoning the "Greta Thunberg Helpline".

Why Greta Makes Adults Uncomfortable

Why Greta Makes Adults Uncomfortable Especially in private, she sounds a lot like … a teenager. “We are not the ones who are responsible for this, but we are the ones who have to live with these consequences, and that is so incredibly unfair,” she said at one point. And this is the way to understand Thunberg that paints her as neither a saint nor a demon but that still captures her appeal. Thunberg epitomizes, in a person, the unique moral position of being a teenager. She can see the world through an “adult” moral lens, and so she knows that the world is a heartbreakingly flawed place.

Humphries pokes fun at a scenario that has managed to take the usual maturity levels of teenagers and grown-ups and invert them. "If you're a grown adult who needs to yell at a child for some reason, the Greta Thunberg Helpline is here to tolerate you." Grown adults, take note before you send that

In the video, one caller says: "I get irrationally angry at a Swedish girl who wants to save the planet. Luckily, there's now a number I can call."

Another says: "Well I don't know why she gets to fist-bump Obama when I've never gotten to."

Humphries shared the video on Twitter with the caption: "The Greta Thunberg Helpline: For adults angry at a child."

Responding to the clip, Thunberg tweeted: "Hang in there! Help is available."

It comes after the teenager hit back at US President Donald Trump after he shared a video of her speaking passionately at the UN Climate Action Summit, with a seemingly sarcastic comment in the caption.

"She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!" he wrote.

"A lot of people have offered to lend us, for example, their electric car," she told a Scandinavian talk show.

"The best offer is probably, or so-called 'best', but one of the funniest offers I've received is that Arnold Schwarzenegger has offered me to lend his electric car if I want to."
