The burglars seized eight signed paintings , including two by the master of the “outrenoir” Pierre Soulages . They also stole jewelry and cash. Pierre Soulages , who celebrated his 100th birthday in December, is particularly known for his “outrenoir”

Eight signed paintings, two of which by the master of the outrenoir Pierre Soulages were stolen by burglars from a Briton living in the 5th arrondissement of Paris.

The theft took place during the night of Monday to Tuesday, according to the police source who confirms information from LCI. The owner of the paintings had left a window open during her sleep. They also stole jewelry and cash, for a total loot estimated at between one and two million euros, a police source said on Wednesday. The Paris judicial police's brigade for the repression of banditry (BRB) has been seized of the investigation.
