The ensemble of the Bavarian State Ballet is currently closed in quarantine after several corona cases in the company. Training and rehearsals have been suspended for the time being, the performances of “Swan Lake” on October 27th and 30th, 2020 will be canceled. Those affected initially had no or only mild symptoms, as the house announced on Wednesday in Munich.
As part of the regular tests, a dancer was initially tested positive for the corona virus. In the tests that followed, five more of the 70 or so ensemble members had positive results. "Then of course they immediately said that the entire artistic business, including ballet masters and pianists, was going to be quarantined," reported ballet speaker Annette Baumann.
«We will do further tests in the next few days. Then it will be decided how to proceed and when, ”reported Baumann. Until then, it remains unclear whether the planned premiere of the three-part "Paradigma" will take place on November 3rd.
