CONAKRY (Reuters) - Alpha Condé won the October 18 presidential election in Guinea with 59.5% of the vote, according to full preliminary results released by the electoral commission on Saturday.

This victory, which has yet to be confirmed by the Constitutional Court, offers a third term to the outgoing president, aged 82.

The decision of Alpha Condé to seek a third term of five years following a constitutional referendum in March was strongly criticized by his opponents.

Several dozen people have died over the past year in protest against this constitutional reform, and at least 17 people have died since the election in election-related violence.

Opposition candidate Cellou Dalein Diallo, who won 33.5% of the vote, said he had evidence that there had been fraud and announced that he would go to the Constitutional Court.

How are the voters appointed, who then choose the President of the United States? .
On November 3, the citizens of the United States are called to vote to elect the President of the United States. But unlike the French poll, this is an indirect election. On November 3, American voters are called to vote, indirectly, for the future American president. Formally, it is in fact the 538 voters, elected state by state, who will lead, on December 19, to the election of the 45th President of the United States.
