With a view to the partial lockdown from Monday, North Rhine-Westphalia's Prime Minister Armin Laschet (CDU) has appealed to citizens to act responsibly and in solidarity. Laschet writes in an open letter to the people that he is aware that the restrictions are a great burden for many people. According to the State Chancellery, the letter will appear on Monday in all daily newspapers from NRW. "That's why we need one thing above all these days: solidarity." One has to think about the old and sick, for whom the new corona virus is a deadly threat.

The aim of the measures is to protect «the health of the most vulnerable», to keep daycare centers and schools open and to maintain economic life. "It now depends on us all again," writes the Christian Democrat. It is important to stay at home or to meet as few people as possible and to adhere to hygiene rules.

Stricter rules come into force on Monday, with which the recently very high number of infections should be suppressed again. This means that all restaurants and cafes as well as swimming pools, fitness studios, museums and theaters remain closed until the end of the month.
